High-school prospect chooses University of Cincinnati over FIU
The last five-star prospect left in the basketball recruiting class of 2009 will attend the University of Cincinnati this fall, finally ending the speculation as to where the heralded high-school player would continue his amateur career.
Lance Stephenson, ranked number 12 on ESPNU's top 100 of 2009, played the waiting game with several schools while he dealt with a misdemeanor sexual assault case, according to The New York Daily News and rivals.com.
The case was adjourned until Monday, July 15, and the six-foot-six swingman, who was supposedly courted by Arizona, Memphis and FIU, signed a financial aid agreement with the University of Cincinnati Bearcats, according to espn.com.
The NCAA will supposedly be investigating Stephenson's amateur status after he was the subject of the reality-television series "Born Ready." He also toured the Under Armour factory earlier this year while visiting Maryland, according to espn.com.
